Circular Solutions in Agriculture

In collaboration with Dennegeur Farms and ESG Agri, Biocharge is trialling the use of orchard prunings and tree pull-outs (field waste) as feedstock for engineered biochar. Just in the Grabouw-Elgin Valley, this presents an elegant circular solution to an estimated 8,500 to 18,000 dry tonnes of annual field waste.

Our Growth Trajectory

Decentralised Model

Centralised MRV

Species Agnostic

Our primary focus is expanding impact in the Cape Floristic Region based on a decentralised nodal model. We offer a network-based platform with node-specific feasibility, backed by context-specific financial models.

While production is decentralised, we maintain centralised Measurement, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), stringent quality assurance, and streamlined carbon-credit administration.

Our core technology is adaptable. By adjusting pyrolysis operating parameters for various woody species, we can deploy this scalable framework in any ecosystem battling invasive woody biomass.

Ultimately, our approach transforms the threat of invasive alien plants into high-value agricultural soil amendments and permanent CO₂ removal, offering a proven blueprint for ecological restoration and climate resilience.
